2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Sophie Shipe, ARCO National New England

Sophie Shipe
Project Manager
ARCO National New England

Number of years at firm: 3

When I am not working, I am: Traveling and spending time with friends and family.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? My project team and I recently completed the design and permitting for a new speculative Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) industrial building. Throughout the design process, we coordinated extensively with the developer to understand their need for a flexible design that could accommodate multiple tenants while being mindful of cost. As a design-build general contractor, we were able to provide real-time pricing feedback to help the developer make informed decisions and ultimately end up with a product under budget that they are excited to offer to the tenant market.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Sophie is one of the most detail oriented and organized people I know. She puts customer service front of mind and is able to focus on it because of her organizational skills and technical knowledge/abilities. She is only a few years into her career at ARCO, and is already an established leader in our office, and will be an integral part of ARCO New England’s long-term growth.” - Jason Grant, Principal/Regional Manger at ARCO National New England

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
