2022 Women in Construction: Shannon Montini Project Coordinator Jewett Construction

Shannon Montini

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? Over the past 12 months, I have been able to take my position and run with it. I have had freedom within my role to not only master it, but add in several achievements to really progress the position itself, quality of work, and improvements for the company altogether. Now, I am training another woman here on our team to expand this position and continue to make it even better!

What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? Working in male dominated industry should not be scary, but empowering. I came from a background in healthcare, so starting in this industry has been a huge jump for me. What I have learned is that there is no industry out there that a woman can’t be a part of! If you work hard, ask questions, and lean on people for their knowledge and help, there is so much you can gain from that. At our company specifically, there has been nothing short of support and appreciation for the women who are staffed here.
