2021 Women in Construction: Heather Van Deusen, Senior Associate, SLAM Collaborative

How have you adapted and changed in the last 12 months? My concept of the workplace is more fluid than it was a year ago. Pre-pandemic I was very much invested in being at the office and rarely worked remotely, though I had the technical capability to do so. The abrupt shift to 100% remote work challenged me to become a more fluent user of the numerous digital collaborative tools at my disposal. The effectiveness of these tools in keeping my project team connected and productive has convinced me that our current hybrid workspace may continue in some form – and that I will be comfortable in it.
