Beverly, MA Windover Construction was honored the Diamond Safety, Training, and Evaluation Process (STEP) award from Associated Builders and Contractors of Mass. (ABC) and Gould Construction for the third consecutive year. This award comes on the heels of a Project Achievement Award from Construction Management Association of America’s New England Chapter (CMAA) recognizing Windover for its work at Babson College.

STEP is a program that provides safety benchmarking and improvement tools that has been shown to improve safety performance among participating companies. Windover was evaluated on statistical factors such as incident rates, lost time and OSHA recordables. The Diamond STEP Award represents the highest level of recognition.

“Receiving the Diamond Level STEP award is not only a high acknowledgement of our dedication to safety, but an achievement that sets us apart from our peers,” said Marc Ciaramitaro, vice president of field operations of Windover. “Over the past few years, we have found more innovative ways to train, including using our virtual design and construction capabilities, and to invest in the safety of our people and our trade partners.”

Windover’s Project Achievement Award from CMAA, celebrating its work on the Babson College Weissman Foundry, highlights the firm’s ability to execute design through boundary-pushing construction capabilities.

The award was received alongside partners, William Rawn Associates, LeMessurier, and Vanderweil Engineers.

The Weissman Foundry, completed in August 2018, is a 10,000 s/f open-door design studio inspiring transdisciplinary innovative collaboration between Babson, Olin and Wellesley College students for the advancement of new or existing projects.

“We’re delighted to be recognized by CMAA for a truly exciting and innovative facility. The Weissman Foundry supports the entrepreneurial spirit of students who are creating strong economic and social value for the future,” said Randy Catlin, COO and executive vice president of Windover.
