2020 Women in Construction: Kate Turner, Project Manager at Colliers Project Leaders

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? One of the most notable projects this past year has been the Historic Renovation and Addition of 60 Main at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut. This is a legacy project with deep roots in the history of the school. Having a project team filled with strong female leadership, I am impacted by our ability for these young women to see the potential of their future roles in the construction industry.

When I’m not working I am…The troop leader for my daughter’s Brownie Troop growing a new generation of female leaders.

Who or what inspired you to join the construction industry? I found inspiration early in my career by having very strong female mentors in the construction and design fields. Watching these women lead teams and command a room showed me that any barrier can be broken.
