Whitman Homes celebrates 30th anniversary - built 1,100 homes in MA

Canton, MA In 1993, Rich Whittington, Tim Porter and Bart O’Brien launched a custom homebuilding company that has gained national and regional accolades. During the last 30 years, they have built more than 1,100 homes in 22 cities and towns in Greater Boston and the South Shore.

In the process, Whitman Homes has won more than 45 awards from the National Association of Home Builders, the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), the National Builders Advisory Council and Guild Quality. Reflecting the diversity of their experience, the awards have been for home design, interior model merchandising, energy efficiency and sales and marketing.

At the 2023 annual PRISM Awards, sponsored by BRAGB, Whitman Homes won a Gold Award for “Best Living Area Private Residence – Primary Bath;” and Silver Awards for “Best Living Area Private Residence – Kitchen,” and “Best Design – Attached Town Home” for a custom home at The Pinehllls.

In 2000, Whitman Homes was one of the three original builders at The Pinehills in Plymouth, a national award-winning 3,060-acre community in which they have built more than 400 homes in 12 different neighborhoods.

Other communities featuring Whitman Homes includes Redbrook in Plymouth, Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Roscommon in Walpole, Glendale Village in Needham, Harmony Farms and Cornwallis Estates in Franklin, Steeple Chase in Foxborough, The Preserve in Stoughton and the Residences at Whiting Pond in North Attleboro.
