What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2019? - by mayor Donald Grebien

With the expected opening of the Pawtucket-Central Falls commuter rail in 2022, it will act as a catalyst for increased transit-oriented economic development. The 150-acre Conant Thread District, abutting the new commuter station, becomes a great place to either lease or purchase useable historic mills. Working with the state and federal governments, we are putting in place clear zoning and incentive programs for development.
The district is located on the commuter line to Boston while offering less expensive rents and development costs. We are a 4-minute train to Providence and we provide unique and authentic complements to the capital city’s entertainment and dining offerings. A recent Forbes article was headlined, “All Aboard for Prosperity in Former Rhode Island Mill Towns” and focused on this development opportunity and stressed the great potential for Pawtucket and Central Falls and on the progress we are already making.
