West End Apts. receives Community Dev. award

Equity Residential, Elkus Manfredi Architects, Turner Construction and the West End Impact Advisory Group received an award for their collaboration and planning, design, construction, leasing and management of the West End Apartments, from the Downtown North Association. The Community Development Award was accepted by Greg White of Equity Residential, David Manfredi of Elkus Manfredi and Jane Forrestal of the IAG at the organizations June luncheon. The West End Apartments are located off of Blossom St., North of the Mass. General Hospital in Boston's West End. The project which consists of 5 buildings, Vesta, Asteria and three smaller buildings called the Villas, was the culmination of over four years of planning with city, state and the community. The project also includes two below-grade parking structures for 660 cars, creating a valuable 58% increase in open, park space throughout the site, an important part of the project's identity. The project was completed in the spring of 2008.
