Wayne J. Griffin Electric completes electrical installation work on Dassault Systémes' data center and tenant fit-up

Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) has completed the electrical installation work at Dassault Systèmes. The France-based 3D product design software company took residence at 175 Wyman St., where Griffin Electric had originally completed the core electrical installation work in early 2010. Recent electrical work within the company's 7,500 s/f data center included the installation of power, lighting and a fire alarm system. A new 13.8KV primary distribution, in addition to a 1000KVA pad-mounted transformer, and 2000 amp, 480v service was also part of Griffin's electrical contract, plus two new 750KW generators, paralleling switchgear and a UPS backup system. Additionally, as part of the 212,000 s/f tenant fit-up package, Griffin Electric installed extensive lighting and controls, as well as, power and fire alarm systems. Construction management firm, Columbia Construction Co. led both portions of the project to completion, with architect and electrical engineer, SMMA, responsible for the data center. Elkus Manfredi Architects and AHA Consulting Engineers were contracted for the tenant fit-up project. "With prior experience wiring this building, our team already knew the inner workings of the facility's electrical system," said Wayne Griffin, president. "Our previous knowledge certainly kept our contributions to the project on-track, moving towards a timely completion."

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
