Walsh Brothers and ADD Inc complete $55 million Westfield State University residence hall

Westfield State University trustees, students, faculty and staff celebrated the official opening of University Hall, a $55 million, 450-bed student residence. The design and construction team for the new LEED plus residence hall includes construction manager Walsh Brothers, project architect ADD Inc and owner's project manager Diversified Project Management (DPM). The Mass. State College Building Authority (MSCBA) funded the project. The 5-story, 135,000 s/f University Hall accommodates 410 students living in single and double semi-suites with common living rooms and study lounges on each floor. The new residence hall was built with sustainability as a central project objective. Mechanical and electrical systems, natural light and efficient lighting and utility equipment will translate to energy and water savings for the university.
