Vantage Builders completes new office renovation for HNTB

HNTB Corp. offices at 300 Apollo Drive - Chelmsford, MA 300 Apollo Drive - Chelmsford, MA

Chelmsford, MA Vantage Builders, Inc. completed a 17,000 s/f office renovation for HNTB Corp. at 300 Apollo Dr.

HNTB, an infrastructure solutions firm serving public and private owners and contractors, needed to expand its office to accommodate recent growth.  A larger space was available in the building, though it required renovation prior to HNTB moving in.  The company hired Vantage due to the firm’s experience completing similar interior projects with fast schedules.

The work involved interior demolition, in order to create the open office environment favored by HNTB.  Most of the walls, floors and ceilings were removed, following the architectural plans from HNTB’s office in Kansas City.

Vantage built five new offices along the window line and 62 workstations in the interior.  Copy and file rooms were created to help HNTB better organize and house the large number of plans and designs generated by its busy teams, and a second break room was added.

Each of the redesigned conference rooms features innovative glass dry erase boards from Clarus Glassboards, which help ensure the new office supports the same level of interaction and collaboration as the smaller location.  The reception area features a curved wall showcasing the keywords of HNTB’s company vision – sustainability, profitable growth, best business and consistent delivery.  Finally, finish work included new paint, carpet tiles, ceilings and light fixtures throughout.

“An office environment doesn’t have to simply be a place where people go to work,” said Ed Silva, principal of Vantage Builders.  “A well-designed office can help improve efficiency and organization, foster collaboration and complement branding.  HNTB’s new location does all these and we’re pleased to have been part of the project.”

The project team also included engineering services from C3 – Commercial Construction Consulting, Inc.  The building is owned by Tritower Financial Group.  The office was furnished by the John A. Marshall Co.
