United Steel providing services for Hotel Commonwealth
United Steel's miscellaneous metals and structural steel divisions started work in December 2014 on the 130,000 s/f Hotel Commonwealth, 500 Commonwealth Ave. The Hotel Commonwealth expansion will face Fenway Park.
United Steel fabricating the structural steel, metal stairs and railings for Hotel Commonwealth.
Over 5,000 shop hours 710 tons of steel will be fabricated and installed to complete the hotel addition. United Steel is working alongside Hotel Commonwealth, Group One Partners, Inc., McNamara Salvia, Columbia Construction, and Mortenson Construction on this project. Erection of the 96-room hotel will be completed in April.
The expansion will include additional rooms, three stories of valet parking, an outdoor terrace, a new full service kitchen, and more.
