EBC Sustainability Program Series, Part Three: Communicating Achievements - Sustainability Reporting February 7 Sustainability reporting has evolved from a general regurgitation of numbers into a polished, creative and engaging reflection of the company's efforts to minimize their social and environmental impact. This program will discuss the key steps involved in developing a successful Sustainability Report, and the skills that environmental professionals will want to acquire to be able to participate or lead such comprehensive reporting efforts. Recent developments covered will include the new G4 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative and the evolving framework for Integrated Reporting. EBC Ocean and Coastal Resources Program: Massachusetts Ports - A New Renaissance? February 19 Massachusetts ports are re-emerging as economic engines. Major water-dependent development projects are proposed in several ports, including waterborne passenger transportation and infrastructure development to accommodate dredging and surface transportation. Massachusetts established 11 Designated Port Areas (DPAs) to support this industrial growth. The Commonwealth is soon to publish a finalized strategic plan that calls for a new statewide maritime council to help coordinate this port policy, funding and development.
