Cambridge, MA Tsoi/Kobus & Associates has been named one of top 50 architecture firms in the U.S. by Architect magazine. The magazine’s annual rankings are based on scores achieved in three metrics: sustainability, design, and business and profitability.

TK&A is an industry-leader in terms of sustainability practices and achieved its highest ranking in the sustainability category. The firm’s whole-system design approach prioritizes sustainable materials and products, energy efficiency, resiliency, site conservation, regenerative waste practices, and inter-connection between building and landscape from the earliest stages of the design/build process. TK&A is also among the founding authors of the groundbreaking Cost of LEED industry handbook, which helps designers and clients achieve LEED-certified projects at a variety of price points.

Also contributing to TK&A’s ranking were its scores for business practices, including profitability, percentage of women and minority designers, percentage of new full-time positions, net revenue per employee, and employee benefits, and for its design portfolio.

“More than 30 years after our founding, Tsoi/Kobus & Associates’ ranking as one of the nation’s 50 leading architectural firms is particularly gratifying, as it acknowledges vigorous and dynamic collaboration by accomplished veterans and talented new leaders,” said senior principal Rick Kobus.
