Tougas and Lareau named to Shawmut team

Shawmut Design and Construction recently appointed Douglas Lareau as chief legal counsel and appointed Roger Tougas, CPA, as the company's chief financial officer. The moves solidifies the construction company's in-house legal and risk management expertise. Lareau is part of Shawmut's senior executive team, responsible for driving the conception, development and implementation of strategic legal and risk architecture. He will oversee the construction company's legal direction, vision and strategy to support business objectives companywide. Prior to joining Shawmut, Lareau served as assistant general counsel in technology and operations at Honeywell International in Morristown, N.J. Prior to that, he served as assistant general counsel and director of contracts at Honeywell's Minneapolis division. Tougas will put his two decades of experience to use, overseeing Shawmut's financial operations, including accounting policies and procedures, systems and GAAP and leadership and management of the company's financial operations. Prior to joining Shawmut, Tougas was a Principal of UHY Advisors in Boston, managing the outsourced accounting group and concentrating on the due diligence, financing and negotiations for large acquisitions. Tougas also served as corporate controller and interim CFO at Modern Continental Companies in Cambridge, Mass.
