Tocci Building Cos. hires Huisenga as VDC manager

Woburn, MA Tocci Building Companies (Tocci) hired Owen Huisenga, and he will serve as VDC manager. Huisenga’s responsibilities include developing and implementing VDC and Building Information Modeling (BIM) scopes and initiatives, as well as managing the training of fellow employees on VDC/BIM standards and execution. In this role, Huisenga will draw on nine years of experience in architectural design and construction management.

Huisenga had previously worked with Tocci’s director of VDC, John Tocci Jr, and was hand-selected to join the company’s rapidly-expanding VDC team.

Additionally, Huisenga was attracted to Tocci because of its industry-leading integration of technology into the design and construction process, as well as its holistic approach to project management.

“Owen is sure to be an asset to our VDC team, and we are happy to welcome him to the Tocci family,” said Tocci. “His previous experience managing onsite VDC/BIM efforts on large-scale projects, combined with his keen architectural acumen, make him an ideal candidate for this position. We are excited for him to make an immediate impact on our projects, and help Tocci grow and expand its VDC expertise.”

By managing digital coordination processes across multiple phases of design and construction, Huisenga will contribute to Tocci’s work on several projects in the residential and hospitality markets.

Huisenga grew up in Oak Forest, IL and earned his B.A. in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and M.A. in Architecture at the University of Kansas. Additionally, he is an active associate of the Boston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Tocci Building Companies, a leading construction and project management firm, specializes in VDC, BIM, Highly Collaborative Project Delivery (HCPDSM), and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
