Thru the Lens: North Branch Construction volunteers for Building on Hope Renovation

North Branch Construction’s Volunteer Crew for the Building on Hope 2018 Renovation

Concord, NH North Branch Construction has partnered with Building on Hope for their 2018 project, the renovation of the Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire (CCCNH) emergency shelter. Building on Hope is a community organization of volunteers who work with builders, architects, and designers to provide physical improvements to facilities associated with non-profit service groups.

Along with several other construction managers and trade subcontractors, North Branch president Joseph Campbell has been involved with the construction process since 2017, attending several planning meetings and volunteering estimating and project coordination services for the CCCNH renovation.

CCCNH provides services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Merrimack County including emergency shelter, a 24-hour hotline, court and hospital advocacy, community education, and support groups. The renovation of their facility will provide an increased number of beds, totaling 24, making it the largest domestic violence shelter in New Hampshire. Other improvements include handicap accessibility, increased dining area, a new food pantry, and a new area dedicated to allowing children to play in their own space while mothers attend important meetings with police officers, lawyers, and other service representatives.

North Branch Construction’s contribution to the fast-track project is managing the renovation of the basement level, providing space for laundry and secure occupant storage. North Branch Construction’s volunteer crew, led by John Connor, includes Joseph Campbell, Luc Carrier, Joel Chrisman, and Amelia DeVellis. The project is expected to be complete by the end of May.
