Thompson of RE/MAX Property Promotions named Massachusetts Realtor of the Year for 2012
According to The Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR), Kurt Thompson, a broker with RE/MAX Property Promotions in Leominster, is the Massachusetts Realtor of the Year for 2012. Thompson was presented the award at MAR's Professional Awards Reception, which was held in conjunction with the Association's 2012 Conference and Tradeshow at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence.
The state's Realtor of the Year is selected annually from among the nominees of the 16 local associations of Realtors and more than 18,000 Realtors in Massachusetts. Judging for the award is based on service to the local community, business accomplishments, and service to the Realtor organization on the local, state and national levels.
"Being Massachusetts Realtor of the Year is one of the highest accomplishments a Realtors can achieve," said 2012 MAR president Trisha McCarthy, broker at Keller Williams Realty in Newburyport. "Kurt Thompson is a well-deserving recipient because of his involvement with his community and his local and state associations. Kurt is one of our outstanding Realtors and we are proud to have him represent our organization."
Thompson is the 2012 immediate past-president, a director and chair of the finance, technology and young at heart committees of the North Central Massachusetts Association of Realtors. He is also currently a member of the executive, government affairs, member services, public relations, professional standards, and education committees.
Thompson is also the immediate past-president and interim treasurer of the Charitable Foundation of the North Central Massachusetts Association of Realtors .
At the state level, he is the 2012 Central Region vice president and a member of the board of directors. Thompson is also a member of the Executive, Government Affairs, Forms Content and YPN committees.
At the national level, he has attended the NAR Leadership Conference and the Mid-year legislative meetings.
