The Woods at Newtown opens new information center

The Woods at Newtown, a 55+ lifestyle community, has opened a new information and design center at 176 Mount Pleasant Rd. The center is offering visitors a preview of plans and designs for the community's clubhouse, condominiums and townhouses. "By early September, we had more than 25 deposits in just 22 days as part of our Founders Club," said Diane Gagliano, director of sales. "Area residents have been anxious to learn about the community and the Founders Club, which provides them with an opportunity to reserve a home early, at preview prices, as part of the first release of 29 condominiums and six townhomes. The response has been tremendous, and activity has been non-stop." The finishing touches are being made to the information and design center and a designer model is being installed next to the center. "The two-bedroom model features a spacious floor plan with great room, full luxury kitchen, elegant owner's bath, dressing closets, hardwood flooring, vaulted ceilings and bright open spaces," Gagliano said. A private patio overlooks the picturesque site - 80% of which will remain in its natural state. Upon completion, The Woods at Newtown will feature 178 private residences, including 132 clubhouse condominiums, with indoor parking and private storage rooms, and 46 townhomes with first floor master suites, private elevators and two-car garages. Homeowners also will have access to an 8,000 s/f clubhouse, connected to the condominiums through enclosed walkways. Outdoor amenities will include a bocce court, golf putting green, picnic area and gazebo as well as the Central Park Commons. Site work has begun with the first release slated for occupancy in late 2008.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
