The MBREA mourns passing of Richard Dennis, Sr.
Boston, MA The Mass. Board of Real Estate Appraisers (MBREA) is mourning the passing of Richard Dennis, Sr. Dennis was 95 years old.
Dennis joined the MBREA in 1976 and served as a trustee and as president in 1982. He was a mentor to many appraisers, training and shepherding them into successful careers. He took great pride in the men and women he helped professionally throughout his career.
The MBREA was greatly enriched by Dennis’s active involvement throughout the years. He was a champion for designations, believing all appraisers should obtain one. As recently as 2019, he attended MBREA’s 85th Anniversary Dinner and Hall of Fame installation, into which he was inducted with the inaugural class of 2009. On many occasions he was accompanied by his wife of 69 years, Clare, who passed in 2018.
Dennis’ list of assignments is like reading a list of the most impressive real estate in New England. They included the Hingham Shipyard, Spectacle Island, the John Hancock Towers, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and Westover Air Force Base.
Arrangements are still being made and MBREA will announce them when complete.
