The Davis Companies names Coyle managing director of investor relations and marketing

Boston, MA The Davis Companies (TDC) has appointed real estate investment veteran Steve Coyle as managing director of investor relations and marketing.

With 25 years of experience in portfolio management, investor relations, investment strategy and research, Coyle joins TDC to lead equity capital raising for the firm’s investment and development initiatives. In addition to expanding the company’s investor base and consultant and distribution relationships, Coyle will also oversee TDC’s investor relations team and have primary responsibility for all investor communications.

“Steve has tremendous depth of experience as an investor, portfolio manager and industry researcher, which provides him with a unique ability to understand and communicate with a broad range of investors.  His staunch commitment to providing exceptional customer service and aiding clients with their investment needs is invaluable to our team. During the last 40 years, we have built solid relationships with our investors and partners, and are confident Steve’s sound judgment and conscientious approach will bring great value to our investors and our firm,” said TDC president Richard McCready.

“Jonathan Davis, Richard McCready and other senior members of the TDC team have built an outstanding fully-integrated platform with an impeccable reputation in development, ownership and management, and I am proud to be a part of such a world-class team,” said Coyle. “We have a remarkable, well-established client base that I look forward to working with to continue our path to future growth.”

Coyle joins TDC following the completion of fundraising for TDC’s third discretionary co-mingled investment vehicle, Davis Investment Ventures Fund III, with $512 million in total commitments from institutional and high net worth investors.

Coyle previously served as senior vice president of portfolio management for Bentall Kennedy in Boston, where he was responsible for portfolio management, as well as sourcing and researching new investment opportunities. Prior to that, Coyle was the chief investment officer at Cohen & Steers Capital Management in New York, where he led all of the company’s private real estate investments, and expanded its global real estate business to include private real estate investments. Coyle also was a managing director at Citigroup Property Investors in New York and a principal at Property & Portfolio Research in Boston.

Coyle holds a master of arts degree in Economic Policy from Boston University, and a bachelor of arts degree in Economics and German from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.

He is a co-chair of the Pension Real Estate Association’s Capital Markets Affinity Group, on the Urban Land Institute’s Industrial & Office Park Development Council Blue, and a member of Heading Home, an organization dedicated to combatting homelessness in Massachusetts.

Committed to excellence in both investment performance and operations, The Davis Companies is an integrated real estate investment, development and management firm headquartered in Boston that has invested more than $4 billion in gross asset value through real estate equity, debt, and fixed-income securities.
