The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts honors 2012 Engineering Excellence Award recipients

His appearances have spanned venues including PBS, The Discovery Channel, the History Channel, TEDx, and TEDMED. "These winning projects exemplify ingenuity and professionalism and represent the breadth of engineering's contribution to our everyday lives," said ACEC/MA president Mary Hall, PE. "They are outstanding examples of how engineers connect communities, provide safe and reliable water and energy, and make our buildings safe and efficient. The professional engineers and their colleagues at our member firms are dedicated to working on quality infrastructure, which wouldn't otherwise exist. These outstanding projects are but a few examples of the quality work designed by Massachusetts (and Rhode Island) engineering firms." In additon to the project awards, ACEC/MA also presented these awards on March 28: * ACEC/MA Education Corporation Scholarship to Tiffany Cheng, a senior in environmental engineering at MIT * ACEC/MA Community Service Award to David Young, PE, Vice President at CDM Smith * ACEC/MA QBS (Qualifications Based Selection) Award to the Town of Framingham, Mass. * ACEC/MA Young Professional Award to Eric Spargimino, PE, Environmental Engineer at CDM Smith About ACEC/MA Shown (from left) are: Jim Jones (JF White), Peter White (JF White), Joe Gill (Gill Engineering), Bill Shea (JF White), Peter Piattoni (ACEC/MA awards committee chair, Fay, Spofford & Thorndike), Mary Hall (ACEC/MA president, GZA GeoEnvironmental), and Chris Calnan (Tetra Tech).
