Sustainable Real Estate Solutions acquires Buonicore Partners
Sustainable Real Estate Solutions, Inc. (SRS), the industry leader in cloud-based building energy performance assessment, underwriting and proprietary benchmarking software, acquired Buonicore Partners, Inc., a leading building energy information services and analytics firm.
With the acquisition, SRS plans to develop proprietary new tools to enhance and accelerate the energy retrofit underwriting process for program administrators, energy consultants, auditors, building owners, contractors, project developers, capital providers and insurers.
"Our five years of collaboration with Buonicore Partners has placed SRS at the forefront of energy efficiency innovation," said Brian McCarter, CEO of SRS. "This acquisition enhances our technical skills and analytics expertise, and will allow our clients to execute more efficient project underwriting and financing cycles."
The combined strengths of the companies have already demonstrated value to clients, including the Connecticut Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA) - Connecticut's green bank. As a result, CEFIA has quickly scaled its C-PACE project portfolio and made the portfolio attractive to capital providers through the use of SRS's innovative energy retrofit underwriting software platform.
"The SRS platform created a streamlined, standardized and technically-sound methodology in our project development process," said Bryan Garcia, president and CEO of CEFIA. "This process effectively addresses the building owner and investor confidence challenge, which has been a key impediment to energy retrofit financing nationwide."
