Suffolk hires Berger as chief culture officer

Dennis Berger

Boston, MA Suffolk has hired Dennis Berger as its chief culture officer. Berger will oversee Suffolk’s People & Culture team and will be responsible for creating a best-in-class employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle.

Berger has more than 30 years of experience across all facets of human resources and people management, including the last 14 years as chief human resources officer. He has a wealth of experience improving and aligning operational efficiencies with company cultures and employee engagement initiatives, and he has been instrumental in driving human resource transformations and successfully scaling innovative human resource initiatives in private and public global organizations.

Prior to joining Suffolk, Berger was a key partner in CDW Corp.’s transformational growth. Most recently, he was responsible for fostering and leveraging the organization’s high-performing co-worker-centric culture, which was widely viewed as the driving force behind its financial success. In addition, Berger spent more than 12 years in the Pepsi system, most recently as head of U.S. human resources at PepsiAmericas, Inc., where he maximized human capital and implemented cultural change and engagement initiatives that resulted in more clarity and focus for U.S. operations.

“We are thrilled Dennis has joined the Suffolk family to help us strengthen the experience we provide for all our people,” said John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “His commitment to operational efficiency and employee engagement will be an important asset as we plan for the continued growth of our operations and focus on attracting and retaining the very best talent throughout the country.”

“John has built a very special and successful organization by creating and nurturing a culture focused on enabling its team members to do their very best work each day,” said Berger. “I’m both excited and honored to join the Suffolk team and family.”

Berger will serve on the executive committee and report directly to Suffolk chairman and CEO John Fish.  Berger will work primarily from Suffolk headquarters in Boston, but will have a significant presence in all the regions in which Suffolk operates.
