Solomon Cordwell Buenz hires O’Gorman

Kristen O'Gorman

Boston, MA Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) has hired Kristen O’Gorman as an associate principal and senior designer. O’Gorman joins the firm’s East Coast practice, to work on SCB’s expanding life sciences design portfolio, in addition to corporate office, institutional, and adaptive reuse projects. O’Gorman’s appointment as associate principal comes as SCB continues to expand along the East Coast, where the firm opened a new office in June 2021.

O’Gorman joins SCB with over 10  years of experience as an architect. With an extensive portfolio of work in life sciences, as well as corporate office, adaptive reuse, and institutional design, O’Gorman brings strong and diversified expertise to the firm. O’Gorman is a graduate of Roger Williams University, a LEED green associate, and NCARB certified. Prior to joining SCB, O’Gorman was an associate, senior designer at Boston-based architecture firm, SGA, in addition to serving five years as a studio instructor for Boston Architectural College.

“For over thirty years SCB has seen great success along the East Coast which led us to opening our Boston office. We are extremely excited Kristen has joined our team to help us grow and drive our evolving life sciences practice here in Boston, and beyond,” said Clara Wineberg, principal and leader of SCB’s East Coast practice. “Kristen’s extensive knowledge of the sectors in which we work, along with her future-looking vision and keen design sense, have already made her an excellent addition to our team. We look forward to working together as we expand our portfolio in Boston and across the region.”

“The opportunity to join SCB’s growing Boston office was an easy one to pursue,” said O’Gorman. “I have long admired the design and quality of the work that SCB does, along with the breadth of the firm’s expertise, and am eager to work with the team to continue forging an already-impressive East Coast portfolio. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to help drive SCB’s life science sector in a city teeming with innovation, research, and growth. I’m excited to use my experience to help foster new connections and work on projects that will define Boston and the surrounding region for generations.”

Solomon Cordwell Buenz brings a unique point of view to each of its projects, utilizing innovative design solutions with a national perspective to meet client needs and create quality spaces for end users to enjoy. Since opening its Boston office earlier this year, the firm has already seen incredible growth, due to its novel take on complex projects across residential, commercial office, mixed-use, institutional, and interiors sectors. Currently, 11 active projects are underway on the East Coast between design stage and construction.
