S/L/A/M Construction Services receives 2018 Design-Build Institute of America New England award

New Haven, CT S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM CS) was honored by the Design-Build Institute of America New England (DBIANE) with a Gold Award for the Chapel Haven Residential Education Building (REACH) project. SLAM CS accepted the award at the DBIA annual meeting and 2018 Awards Dinner held on January 10 at the Sheraton Framingham.

The building construction project award is given to a design-build project that demonstrates team collaboration, efficiency and value. The Chapel Haven design build team exemplified these attributes by meeting an extraordinary challenge for time.

SLAM’s multi-disciplinary in-house team provided the project with a unique integrated design-build delivery method which streamlines the process by bringing planning, design, and construction together from the early stages of the project through completion, ensuring team collaboration, quality and efficiency.

The REACH building, a 4-story 32,500 s/f educational and residential facility, is the first new building at Chapel Haven. The facility includes three upper floors of dormitory-type suites with two and three-bedroom units, shared kitchens and common spaces. The first floor includes classrooms for engagement learning, gathering spaces, and a quiet room.
