S/L/A/M Construction Services president Torone joins Connecticut ABC’s board of directors

Glastonbury, CT According to S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM CS), Eugene Torone, president of SLAM CS has joined the Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut (CT ABC) board of directors. Torone has 30 years of experience in planning and managing construction projects, with 19 years managing design-build projects.

“Gene brings a wealth of valuable knowledge and insight from his substantial experience in the construction industry. He will be a great addition to our board,” said Chris Syrek, president of CT ABC.

CT ABC is the recognized advocate and defender of the merit shop in Conn. With almost 200 members, CT ABC’s mission is to ensure that every contractor has an equal opportunity to bid on construction projects, regardless of their union affiliation. CT ABC strives to be the premier resource for the construction industry in Connecticut. In addition to their defense of the merit shop, they also provide safety training, state accredited apprenticeship programs, and an abundance of resources to help members navigate the challenging legislative and regulatory business environment in the state.

“It’s an exciting time to join the Connecticut ABC Board,” said Torone. “I am pleased to be part of an organization that promotes the education, networking and support of the merit shop construction trades in Connecticut and nationally, and I look forward to contributing to ABC as it continues to grow and expand its services to members.” In addition to becoming a recent DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America) certified professional, Torone currently serves on Connecticut ABC’s member recruitment committee.
