SIOR Chapter plans annual golf outing at Turner Hill on May 27

The New England Chapter is holding its annual golf outing at Turner Hill on Thursday, May 27. The event is exclusive to the SIOR Chapter members and invited guests and has also proven to be a great event. John Cissel, SIOR has been working diligently organizing this event as he has over the past years. Approximately 24 members and guests are invited to a team competition. The event is planned for 11:30 a.m. with a box lunch, carts and time to practice. Turner Hill is a distinguished old English style that meets historic New England charm. Century-old grounds welcome a new, highly acclaimed Hurdzan/Fry golf course. And a grand Elizabethan mansion sits among towering pines and lush gardens. At Turner Hill, residents enjoy the ultimate estate lifestyle and golf members are afforded an unequalled level of service and amenities. In 1898, noted turn of the century architect, William Rantoul was commissioned by Charles Goodnough and Ann Proctor Rice of Boston to build a grand home. There they would raise their children and entertain their family and friends. An extensive tour of Europe's historic castles and manors provided the Rices and Rantoul with the exquisite vision and inspiration that you will find while visiting Turner Hill. Completed in 1903, the mansion boasts plaster hand-molded ceilings, vivid wall friezes, gleaming oak hardwood floors, hand-carved paneling, doors and stairways. Through the always friendly environment, open doors, and limitless opportunities that Turner Hill creates, be assured that the honorable legacy started by the Rice family is being carried out and continued on a daily basis by the member owned, Golf Club at Turner Hill. In fact Doc Rivers, Celtics coach, is a member. Dennis Eckersley, Danny Ainge and Padraig Harrington have also played Turner Hill. The event will kick-off around 12 p.m. with a closing cocktail party and awards. Look for more information during May via email.
