Simon Konover Entity acquires Norwich building

Simon Konover Development Corporation (SKDC) has acquired the building located at 620 West Main St., formerly occupied by Friendly's restaurant. "This property is located adjacent to Marcus Plaza, one of Simon Konover's early retail developments," said James Wakim, president and chief operating officer of The Simon Konover Co. "We are pleased to expand our investment and commitment in the Norwich community and look forward to attracting a new tenant to the building." The former restaurant building, which sits on approximately one acre of land, was renovated in 2011. SKDC closed on the acquisition on September 27, and is currently seeking a tenant for the property. The property abuts Marcus Plaza which is owned by Norwich Realty Associates, LCC, a Simon Konover-related entity. Marcus Plaza is a community shopping center anchored by Shop Rite and TJ Maxx.
