Shire PLC plans to hire 750 full-time employees and invest $460 million over the next eight years to expand its Human Genetics Therapies division.
The British drug maker in February 2008 outlined its expansion plans and said it would invest $394 million and hire 680 workers at the unit based here.
Officials of the firm this month confirmed it has signed a 15-year lease with Patriot Partners to build a 160,000 s/f facility at 200 Patriot Way in the Lexington Industrial Park.
The structure will house offices and laboratories for Genetic Therapies. Construction will begin in 2010 with Shire to occupy the building two years later.
