Shields Ives of Finegold Alexander appointed as co-vice chair to Boston's Preservation Alliance's exec board of directors

Boston, MA Regan Shields Ives, AIA, LEED AP, principal at Finegold Alexander Architects, has been appointed to serve on the executive board of directors as co-vice-chair of the Boston Preservation Alliance (BPA). The appointment recognizes Shields Ives’ leadership, dedication, and contributions to preservation through her professional work and advocacy during her 10-year BPA membership including as a member of the board of directors over the past three years and previous member of the young advisors board.

“The Boston Preservation Alliance board and membership enthusiastically supported the elevation of Regan to an officer position as one of our two vice chairs. Her evolution from a member of our young advisors, to board, now to vice chair demonstrates both her long dedication to the organization and our mission as well as the power of building leadership in alliance with organizations and businesses who embrace our role in the preservation and evolution of Boston,” said Greg Galer, executive director, Boston Preservation Alliance. “Regan’s deep experience on the ground in preservation, adaptive use, and new construction aligned with historic properties brings valuable insight as we assess and provide feedback to project proponents and regulators in Boston.”

“The Boston Preservation Alliance has had a long-standing relationship with the city of Boston’s historic buildings, landscapes, and communities. We not only look back to the rich historic resources that define our city, but we look forward to respectfully integrating and harmonizing history with new development. I am honored to be named as co-vice chair of this dynamic organization,” said Shields Ives.

With over 18 years of professional experience, Shields Ives is a studio leader at Finegold Alexander Architects for educational and cultural projects. Her work has been recognized with awards and has contributed to the preservation of buildings and environments locally and nationally.
