Shanahan joins Grand Coast Capital Group as senior asset manager

Boston, MA Grand Coast Capital Group, a Boston-based real estate investment and private lending firm, has hired John Shanahan as senior asset manager. In this leadership role, Shanahan will utilize his finance and real estate industry experience to oversee Grand Coast Capital’s asset management, risk and loan servicing.

“John’s industry expertise and proven track record in implementing operational enhancements align perfectly with our goal to optimize performance of the Grand Coast Capital portfolio,” said Jeff Carter, CEO and founder of Grand Coast Capital “His more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and asset management will prove invaluable to the continued advancement of our strategic vision.”

Prior to his role at Grand Coast Capital, Shanahan held various positions at GE Capital Real Estate focused on finance, originations and asset management, most recently serving as senior asset manager. In his new position, he will manage the firm’s commercial loans and asset portfolio, including business plans, leasing, capital programs and operating budgets. 

Additionally, he will oversee strategic investment of Grand Coast Capital’s portfolio based in the U.S. and Europe.

Shanahan received his bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from Lyndon State College.
