Shaffert of Cutler Associates named president/chair of Design-Build Institute of America's New England Region

Rod Shaffert, LEED AP, VP scholastic division for Cutler Associates, was recently named president and board chairman of the Design-Build Institute of America's New England Region. He takes over from outgoing president and chair James Fox, PE LEED AP, project manager for BVH Integrated Services. Shaffert has been with Cutler for 25 years. He has been a DBIA member for 10 years and on their board of directors since 2006. "The DBIA promotes the value of design-build project delivery, believing effective integrated delivery ensures success for the owner and their design and construction team," said Shaffert. "The design-build process optimizes value on many different project types and I'm very pleased to head DBIA NE as we bring that message to owners, managers, and the design and construction industry throughout New England." The Design Build Institute of America defines, teaches and promotes best practices in design-build. DBIA represents the entire design and construction industry, with its primary objective being to provide education, training, networking, and support to all players involved in the design and construction industry.
