Save the date: Seminar on sexual assault and VAWA in the workplace - October 3

Wallingford, CT IREM will host a sexual assault, domestic violence, violence against women and elder abuse seminar. In this seminar attorneys from Flynn Law Group will discuss issues that may arise at your properties related to domestic violence and sexual assaults. The seminar will take place October 3, from 8:30 a.m.  till 12 p.m. at Memories at Traditions 37 Harrison Rd.

This seminar will include addressing victims and the course of action you would take at your property.

Additionally, they will be discussing issues related to domestic violence and the federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Which prohibits evictions of victims of domestic violence because of disturbances or damages that are caused by acts of domestic violence.

They will also describe how VAWA allows for a landlord to bifurcate a tenancy and evict only the perpetrator of domestic violence, while sparing the victim of domestic violence from being subject to the eviction action.

This will be an interactive seminar including hypothetical situations which will be discussed and analyzed by the participants along with legal analysis by attorneys.

Ticket price: $45 for members; $55 for non-members; $35 for  3 or more from the same company for the discounted rate.
