Rockland Trust provides financing to Middle School East LLC for renovation and build-out of Landmark Place

Milford, MA Rockland Trust has provided financing to Middle School East LLC for the extensive renovation and build-out of Landmark Place, a 38-unit 55+ apartment building. Landmark Place at 45 Main St. was the former Milford Middle East School which closed in 2016.

“We are very excited about this project. We feel it provides quality alternative housing to lifelong Milford residents. Also we hope that this project helps in the continued revitalization of the downtown area,” said Kevin Lobisser, partner at Lobisser and Ferreira Construction Corp.

Lobisser and Ferreira Construction Corp. is conducting a large-scale update of the 1920’s building. As part of the construction, the prior gymnasium will be torn down to make room for a four-story, 25,570 s/f expansion with an elevator. Once completed, the building will be 43,970 s/f and include a mix of 38 one and two-bedroom units, on-site storage, a fitness center, and a community room. Landmark Place will be the first apartment complex built in Milford since 1970.

“It is always such a pleasure working with Kevin Lobisser, Joe Ferreira and their team,” said Darin Foster, vice president and commercial loan officer at Rockland Trust. “Developing housing options, such as those offered at Landmark Place, helps broaden Milford’s appeal and strengthens our overall community.”

Landmark Place started construction in early 2021 and is expected to be completed by September 2022. The property offers a variety of apartment layouts to meet the demand of the 55+ customer base. The mix of 38-units include, 20 1-bed/1-bath, 11 2-bed/1-bath, and 7 2-bed/2-bath ranging from 810 square feet to 1,000 square feet. Landmark Place is conveniently located on the North Side of Main Street between Summer and Winter Streets in downtown Milford. It is also in walking proximity to the Milford Senior Center and Library.
