RK Centers names Freeman COO and general counsel

Eric Freeman

Needham, MA Commercial real estate attorney Eric Freeman has been named chief operating officer and general counsel for RK Centers.

David Katz, principal of RK Centers, said, “Eric perfectly complements our team, bringing more than 20 years of front line experience advising private funds and real estate operating companies in their acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial real estate interests. We are very excited to have Eric join us at RK Centers.”

Most recently, Freeman was a member of the Boston law firm of Mintz Levin where he represented clients in more than 350 transactions accounting for $5 billion of commercial real estate. A graduate of Bates College, Freeman received his law degree from Boston College in 2007. He has been recognized in Chambers USA (2013-2015, 2018, 2019 (Recognized Practitioner)); “Best Lawyers in America: Real Estate Law” (2016 – 2020); and has earned the “Martindale-Hubbell” AV Preeminent designation. 

He has extensive experience representing and advising owners and operators of multiple asset classes, including office, industrial, retail, multifamily and medical office properties, and structuring each of those transactions.

 Among his community involvement, Freeman served for four years as a member of the United Way Real Estate and Building Industry leadership breakfast committee and as a volunteer with Citizens Schools. 

In 2019, Freeman represented non-profit corporation Cradles to Crayons on a pro bono basis in their acquisition of their “forever home” in the greater Boston area and remarked that “the Cradles representation was one of the most rewarding matters of my career.”
