Richard White Sons awarded Cathedral Church St. Paul renovation

Richard White Sons, Inc. has been awarded the renovation of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 138 Tremont St. The Cathedral Church of St. Paul is considered the Bishop's home church for the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. The Richard White Sons' project team will partner with designer, Donham & Sweeney Architects and the owner's project manager, Potomac Capital Advisors in renovating the cathedral. The 19,000 s/f renovation will provide code and MEP upgrades as well as provide the cathedral with an opportunity to open the space with natural light. The current landlocked building has limited access to natural light and the code upgrades, demolition of cathedral seating to allow for more flexible service configurations, addition of a new skylight, new entry doors and elevator/stairwell represents one of the most significant renovations the Cathedral has undergone in fifty years. The project construction is scheduled to commence after the Easter holiday in April 2013 with a projected occupancy date of December 25, 2013.
