RFWalsh Collaborative Partners breaks ground on 85,000 s/f Howe-Manning Elementary School

RFWalsh Collaborative Partners recently marked the groundbreaking of the new Howe-Manning Elementary School in Middleton. RFWalsh Collaborative Ptrs. serves as the project manager for the design and construction of the project, which will house more than 550 students and feature classrooms, a computer lab, gymnasium, library, kitchen, cafeteria and art and music spaces. The RFWalsh Collaborative Ptrs. team is one of the key consultants on the project. Last May, Middleton voters approved a $31.4 million budget for the 85,000 s/f facility. As project manager, RF Walsh Collaborative Partners' scope of work includes designer selection, design reviews, value engineering, schedule and budget development, cash flow reporting, project accounting, contractor prequalification, ongoing work and construction planning with the Mass. School Building Authority (MSBA), and bid process management. Clients have included Boston Latin Academy, Boston College High School, Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, and the communities of Revere, Everett, Medford, Winchester, Dracut and Natick. The RFWalsh Collaborative Ptrs. team on the Howe-Manning Elementary School includes David Billings, AIA, senior project manager, Kerry Logue, assistant project manager, and Fred Scibelli, construction site manager. DiNisco Design Partnership is the architect. Also participating in the groundbreaking ceremony were state treasurer Tim Cahill, who serves as chairman of MSBA, and Katherine Craven, executive director of the MSBA. The MSBA is funding 51 percent of the project. Ira Singer, Middleton town administrator, said, "David and the rest of the RFWalsh Collaborative Partners team has been a reliable resource throughout this process. They have taken the time to fully understand the needs of our town and are truly committed to helping us build the best possible school for the children of Middleton.
