R.E. Dinneen designs 26,995 s/f for Inari Agriculture at 1 Kendall Sq.

Cambridge, MA R.E. Dinneen Architects & Planners, Inc. designed a 26,995 s/f R&D lab for Inari Agriculture at One Kendall Sq.

Founded in 2016, Inari Agriculture is a botany-focused research and development company. With over 50 employees, Inari had outgrown their original location, their landlord, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, was able to offer another nearby space suitable to their needs. Dinneen Architects was hired to provide comprehensive architectural planning services, together with construction documentation and administration.

The Richmond Group served as the general contractor.

Inari’s new location now accommodates a larger R&D Lab with expanded space for plant growth chambers and separate individual specialty labs. The expanded office area center around collaborative open office work areas with supporting conference, phone and huddle room facilities. As the layout is divided on two floors, a new contemporary communicating stair was designed to provide direct internal access.

Also central to the design is a multi-purpose/multi-use function area. As an all-open configuration, the space can accommodate company-wide meetings of 90 people with theatre style seating, while being supported by large screen distance/AV media.  As a divided configuration with movable partitions in place, the same area can quickly accommodate separate 16 to 26-person conference rooms, while simultaneously providing a fully functioning break area with dining-style tables and seating.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
