Quality Beverage and Dacon break ground on $1.8m expansion

Taunton, MA  Quality Beverage and Dacon Corp. broke ground June 10^th on a $1.8 million expansion to their headquarters.  

Begun in 1994, Quality Beverage is now the state’s largest independently owned beer distributor servicing over 2,500 restaurant and retail accounts.  

This is Dacon’s third endeavor with them, having previously renovated Quality’s Auburn, Mass. distribution center and a $4.6 million rebranding / expansion of the local headquarters.

Conrad Wetterau, president and CEO of Quality Beverage, said “This is the last expansion on the current site so it made sense to engage Dacon again for this project. The additional warehouse space will accommodate QB’s mission to lead future growth in the beverage business here in Massachusetts.”

This project consists of a ground-up, 10,500 s/f warehouse addition to the south side of Quality’s headquarters facility. Designed to match the existing facades and accommodate future equipment upgrades, this high-stud warehouse maximizes vertical space on the property. Serviced by one tailboard loading dock, the building’s main electrical transformer required a relocation to make room for the addition.  

The event was led by Conrad Wetterau, and attended by senator Marc Pacheco, state representative Shaunna O’Connell, mayor Tom Hoye, Dick Shaffer of Taunton Development and employees from both organizations.
