In 1942, Stan enlisted in the Air Force, occasionally flying missions as a gunner. By 1948, he had finished college, had entered the matrimonial field and had joined the First in their training program. “Banking was in the family. My Grandfather was Pres. of the Plymouth Savings Bank and my Father is Chairman of the Board at the Plymouth Home National.” In 1951, I moved into the real estate department and in those days we spent a lot of money in other parts of the country. Boston was dormant. We are a N.E. based institution that would like to spend much more money in the area, and look forward to doing so when the money situation straightens out.”
Stan is a vice president at First National and recently tied for first place in a Realtor Board Golf Outing. “The most important occurrence that started this city on the come-back trail was outside investment waking up those of us here to our potential.” Stan warns, “30% of people employed are directly or indirectly in real estate field, so as real estate slows down, so will employment.”
