Education: University of N.H.; N.H. Technical Institute
After serving in China for 20 months in the Marine Corp. repatriating the Japanese, Dick returned to college in 1946, and joined the Telephone Company in 1948, travelling all over New England. From 1952-1959, Beaulieu worked with the Veterans Administration, which led up to the formation of Duffley & Beaulieu Realtors. “I had known Duffley for many years and in 1959 (he was a school teacher) we decided to open the firm. Several VA friends had gone into the business and had done quite well. In the 7 years we have built up a solid diversified operation with a staff of seven covering appraising, management and general real estate. Local bankers are bending over backwards for the Realtors up here, but some money remains available at 6 ½ to 7%.”
Dick is this year’s president of the local Realtor board; a corporator of the Merchants Savings Bank and a past president of the N.H. Jazz Society. (“I have a large collection of recordings and play the sax for kicks”). Married with a son and daughter, he spends his spare time skiing, swimming or taking appraisal courses.
