When Joe left high school in 1939, where he had been a 140-pound football quarterback, he took a $6 per week job as a printer’s apprentice. “The pay was even better for the next three years in the 102nd infantry division.” From 1945-1947, Bove owned and managed a Tavern in West Rutland and the late 40’s were to introduce him to the real estate and insurance business. Today, the active 210-pound former high school quarterback keeps active with his brokerage, along with the BoveMac Corp., which buys and sells property and Bove, McGinnis, an insurance office. “Things are going well up here, with the ever-expanding vacation business and the new industry, along with the population growth. Large land tracts purchased two years ago have doubled in price. We continue to develop land and sell lots.”
