In the mid thirties, Jim joined the commercial, industrial and auctioneering firm of Joseph P. Day in New York City. After 10 years with Day and several in the U.S. Coast Guard, Quinn formed his own company, Quinn Real Estate and Construction. In 1963, he was invited by the 30 year old Frank & Co., of New York, to form a real estate/construction division of the firm, which has always been in investment financing and securities.
“We formed Frank Properties’ for the purpose of developing shopping centers and have successfully done so in Gardner, Rockland and Worcester, Mass., in Nashua and Portsmouth, N.H., and we are under construction in Norwell and So. Attleboro, Mass. We also have several in the Midwest. We have felt that the SC industry has just scratched the surface and will the changed habits of shoppers, most small towns can support a small center. We have a tenant list of 85-90% triple-A and a bank line of $16 million a year without any take outs. We are now planning to build larger centers and have three regionals under construction.”
Jim is married with two children. He resides in Long Island and enjoys fishing in his spare time. He is a member of the New York Athletic Club and the Port Washington Yacht Club.
