How many years have you been practicing? 4 years.
Tell me about your area of practice as it relates to commercial real estate: My practice is primarily focused on land use permitting and litigation where I represent private companies, developers, and property owners in various site plan applications, administrative appeals, affordable housing matters, and property disputes.
What other areas do you practice in? I also practice in the areas of environmental law and construction law.
Are you a member of an association? Connecticut Bar Association; Portuguese Bar Association of Connecticut (Note: I am also fluent in Portuguese); CREW CT, board member; Professional Women in Construction, mentor program committee member
If you had to choose a different profession, what would it be? As the daughter of a small business owner, I would probably open a small business of some kind such as an antique/home furnishings boutique.
Favorite novel: I’m not one to pick favorites but, just to name a few that I have enjoyed: Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen; Cutting for Stone, Abraham Verghese; and The Devil in the White City; Erik Larson.
Favorite film: Again, no favorites, but the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies are go-tos.
Hobbies: Cooking; traveling; refinishing furniture.
