Canton, MA Brightview Senior Living Community located at 125 Turnpike St. is on schedule for a summer 2016 completion. The project was developed by The Shelter Group. PROCON was selected as the designer and construction manager for the $30 million project. This is the seventh collaboration between PROCON and The Shelter Group on Brightview senior housing in Massachusetts since 2012.

Plans call for 160 residential units including 95 independent living apartments, 40 dedicated apartments for assisted living and 25 for Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Brightview communities also offer a specialized program and environment for dementia care known as Wellspring Village, designed to enhance the lives of those living with memory limitations.

Construction began on the 167,000 s/f community occupying 29 acres in December 2014. Due to the general size and layout of the building, work was divided into three overall areas. The current status of construction ranges from finishes in the first area to the hanging of drywall in the third area. Each Brightview community is unique in its architecture and layout. The Canton community was designed to echo the style of New England’s historical Victorian mansions – with a mansard roof, porches, turrets and dormer windows with top quality construction and high-end finishes. The project manager stated, “It’s strong exterior Victorian influences required a meticulous attention to detail and a high level of coordination. It has been a rewarding process to see the whole thing come together so well.”

The Shelter Group is a privately held real estate development and property management company founded in 1977, specializing in multifamily and senior living communities.

PROCON is a fully integrated in-house design and construction firm specializing in aviation, commercial, educational, hospitality, institutional, industrial and multi-family residential projects.

Brightview Canton is all-inclusive living designed for the unique needs of the older adult population. The community will provide housekeeping, dining, transportation, maintenance and chef-prepared meals. Prospective residents will have the option to choose from a variety of spacious, comfortable and easy-to-manage apartment styles and floor plans. Among the convenient state-of-the-art amenities are a wellness/fitness center, movie theater, beauty/barber shop, café, pub library/media room, elegant dining rooms and gathering spaces for seniors to enjoy. A unique feature to the Canton location is a quarter-mile walking path that loops through the surrounding wetland and grassland areas.
