McNulty of E.A. McNulty R.E. elected for 2nd term
November 19, 2007 - Rhode Island
Vowing to continue working toward the five major goals he originally set for his administration, Thomas McNulty, president of E.A. McNulty Real Estate, Cumberland, took the reins for a second term as president of the Rhode Island Builders Association on October 2nd.
McNulty's goals include strengthening RIBA's coalition with other business organizations, expanding the association's state and local influence in the legislative arena, continuing to fight unfair local fees and regulations, building a better image for the industry and the association, and encouraging more continuing education for members.
The occasion was RIBA's annual meeting, election and installation of officers, held for the second year at the Alpine Country Club, Cranston. Members and guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and a buffet dinner before the business meeting.
Also beginning their second terms are vice president Michael Artesani Sr. of W. Artesani and Sons, Cranston; treasurer Steven Gianlorenzo of Gianlorenzo and Sons Construction Corp., East Providence; and secretary Robert Baldwin of R.B. Homes Inc., Johnston.
Over 100 members and guests attended the annual meeting, which also featured awards and recognitions, along with a message from Women's Council president Cheryl Boyd.
Among those elected at the meeting were local directors Joseph C. Cracco of Modern Yankee Builders, Tanya Donahue of E.A. McNulty Real Estate, Vincent J. Marcantonio of Marcantonio Design Builders, Ronald Smith of Ron Smith Homes, and Richard Welch of Apple Construction.
In addition, members approved a bylaw change that reorganized the RIBA Nominating Committee to include the secretary, a member from the Executive Committee, two members from the Board of Directors, and the three most recent past presidents in good standing. Previously the committee had included only past presidents.
A number of RIBA members were nominated for national office, and will be officially elected and installed at the National Association of Home Builders convention in January in Orlando, Fla.
