The green reputation enjoyed by TradeCenter 128 sealed the deal with WSP Environment & Energy according to Cummings Properties' leasing director Rob Yacobian. "This clients' vision to help shape a sustainable future is complemented by a space that was designed to provide a healthy environment and to be energy efficient," he said.
According to Cummings Properties' sustainability manager, Gary Gresh, the LEED Gold pre-certified building has operable windows, a recycling program, improved air quality, green housekeeping and was built using low VOC paints and construction material. A 518-panel solar array has been completed and helps power the building's common area electric load.
"Environmental stewardship has been an important strategy in the design and management of the company's portfolio for some time now," Gresh explained. "Several buildings have received Energy Star Awards and two other buildings are being built to meet LEED standards," he added.
