Cummings Properties leases 19,100 s/f to Spectra Medical at two properties

Spectra Medical Devices, Inc., an international medical manufacturer of custom tray components and instruments, has extended its lease for nearly 10,500 s/f at 260 Fordham Rd. and signed a more than 8,600 s/f lease expansion at 340 Fordham Rd. Both buildings are owned by Cummings Foundation, Inc. and managed by Cummings Properties, LLC.
Founded in 1995, Spectra Medical specializes in the supply of non-sterile surgical devices and disposable dental products. Spectra Medical has been ISO 9001 certified since 2006.
Earlier this year, Spectra Medical's expanding business required additional space, but 260 Fordham Rd. was fully leased. Cummings Properties offered additional space right around the corner at 340 Fordham Rd. according to Lisa Wheeler, Cummings Properties' leasing/property manager.
Set on three acres, the free-standing, single-story building at 340 Fordham Rd. was available, but needed a complete renovation. Cummings Properties' design and construction team upgraded the building's façade with new entries, doors and operable windows. "Our team was able to upgrade the building and customize the leased space to meet Spectra Medical's expansion needs in a very short time," Wheeler said.
"We were pleased to accommodate Spectra Medical so close to its current location. Its lease at 340 Fordham Rd. nearly fills the building. Companies find the convenience of Fordham Road with many local amenities and the proximity to major highways highly attractive," Wheeler said.
Cummings Foundations currently owns six buildings in Wilmington, two on Fordham Road and a four-building complex on Concord Street. Other health care clients in these buildings include various physicians' offices, a branch of The Lahey Clinic Foundation, Inc., Concentra Health Services, Inc., UMass Memorial Laboratories, Inc. and Healthwyse LLC.
All of the Foundation's Wilmington buildings offer ample parking and are located just off Interstate 93 at Exit 39 near the Shriners Auditorium, 15 miles north of Boston.
Cummings Foundations owns numerous high profile properties in nine communities around Greater Boston. It also operates two large independent and assisted living facilities, New Horizons at Choate and New Horizons at Marlborough, which collectively serve more than 500 senior residents.
