Erland Construction organizes clothing and toy drive for shelter

Erland Construction, Inc, a general contracting/construction management firm completed its annual holiday charity drive. The effort was organized by members of the company's Community Relations Taskforce - a group founded in 1996 with a mission to contribute to the betterment of the surrounding community. This year's event was a clothing and toy drive for the Medford Family Life Education Center.
Medford Family Life, a residential shelter, provided names, ages, and clothing sizes for 13 women and 21 children. Erland employees - eager to help those less fortunate - signed up to purchase clothes and/or toys for the listed recipients. Throughout the month of December, the pile of unwrapped gifts grew and was finally picked up by representatives from the center on December 18th. As the only organization to make any donations to the shelter this year, Erland's philanthropy was especially important.
"This year's drive for Medford Family Life was another great success," said coordinator Maryanne Callahan. "As usual, so many of the Erland employees were incredibly generous and we're proud that our donations helped make Christmas a little brighter for these women and children."
In November, Erland collected canned food and money for the Burlington Food Pantry, which provides food to 150 local families, including elderly shut-ins and veterans.
